Groeneveld placed on probation after pleading to meth felony

  Troy Groeneveld, 51, of Greene pleaded guilty on May 18 to an amended charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The part of Iowa law cited [in sentencing filed July 27 in Butler County District Court] pertains to possession of five grams or less of methamphetamine, its salts or isomers or any compound, mixture, or preparation containing any detectable amount of meth, which constitutes a class C felony.
  A prison sentence of up to 10 years was suspended (with credit), as was a $1,000 fine.
