Grant makes need-based home repair aid available in Allison

The city of Allison has received a grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) to rehabilitate owner-occupied housing for lowto moderate-income residents within the city’s target area.
Deadline for applications of interest is 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5. Those within the guidelines and target area may contact City Hall for an application at 319- 267-2245; or drop in at 410 N. Main St., Allison.
“We are very strict on the homeowners needing to get their signed application back to City Hall or INRCOG by the time and date listed,” said Jim Rodemeyer, director of housing with Iowa Northland Regional Council of Governments, administering the grants. The city will need to have all work completed on the homes by July 31, 2018.
BACKGROUND: The $212,994 Community Development Block Grant award, combined with $18,000 in local funds, will rehabilitate at least six homes. Local funds will go to offset administrative costs and also to fund repairs to eligible homes.
