SHELL ROCK — Gov. Terry Branstad visited with lab technician Laurie Severson from Greene Friday on a stop at the Zinpro Corp. [rural] Shell Rock site.*
Severson is the proof that there are good job opportunities in rural areas close to home, said Butler County Development Corp. director Jeff Kolb.
Severson had been driving nearly two hours one way to work each day at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., when she learned of the job opportunity that fit her skill set at Zinpro.
Kolb, who arranged the tour, said its purpose was not only to showcase the new industrial park and companies in it, but also to make the governor aware that Butler County is working to increase employment opportunities.
