Story hour at Clarksville Public Library began as an outreach project in 1966.

The idea turned out to be gold, as Lola Clark (aka Granny Lola) hosted the program for 39 years, creating Willie the Puppet.

Clark eventually turned the event over to current library director and former story hour-goer Kristen Clark in 2005.
