Clarksville Fire and Ambulance responded to a house fire northwest of town Monday morning, and are still on the scene.

At 7:45 a.m. the fire was reported, as Greene and other fire departments came out to rural Clarksville’s 14700 block of Royal Avenue to help put out the fire. Maintenance Superintendent Matt Kampman was trying to use a generator to keep the City’s water from freezing and allow the firefighters more ammunition to stop the raging fire.

With temperatures below 30 and 40 with wind chills, the fire comes on the coldest day reported in town since 1965.
