“I love teaching because every day is a new experience. The kids are hilarious; they are so creative and honest. They brighten your day,” said 5th and 6th grade reading teacher Jamie Osterbuhr.
Osterbuhr graduated from Allison-Bristow. She then went to UNI and graduated with a degree in elementary education and special education. Her first teaching job was in Nevada, where she taught from 1997 until 2005. She taught for one year at Nashua/Plainfield, before returning to teach at North Butler.
“I love the school system I graduated from and knew it was good for kids,” Osterbuhr said. “Small town living is priceless in today’s world, and I appreciate that.”
Her main goal is to teach the love of reading, so children learn to enjoy books.
