Clarksville Express Mart is now the lone place in town for gas and convenience.

With Casey’s General Store having to close after a fire broke out last week, the Express Mart has had to change parts of service to accommodate new business.

The shop is adding a diesel pump since Casey’s had the only one in town. They will be getting rid of leaded gas to install diesel next week.

Manager Vickie Chesnut said she’s had to double up employees’ hours to avoid hiring someone for a limited time until Casey’s reopens.

Due to the small amount of storage in the building, she is also working with vendors to accommodate the town’s demands for more supplies.

“I’ve seen a lot of new faces,” Chesnut said. “It’s been interesting dealing with new customers. I’ve been on the phone a lot with vendors too, getting more supplies.

“We were busy before, and we’re even busier now.”
