Energy audit gives pointers on weatherizing

  Green Iowa AmeriCorps performed an energy audit, which checks for effi cient use of energy, on a Clarksville house on Wednesday, Jan. 6.
  The simplest thing people can do to save energy is make sure the windows are closed and latched anytime the climate control is running, including any kind of heat or air conditioning, said Brad James, who coordinates outreach with Green Iowa as an AmeriCorps volunteer.
  Anytime a building material with insulation has air flowing through it, it means the effectiveness of the insulation is substantially reduced, James said.
