Emma Poppe follows sports path while her sister chases American Idol

CLARKSVILLE – It’s been a crazy last few weeks for Clarksville sophomore Emma Poppe.
The Indians’ four-sport athlete has been back-and-forth from Hollywood a few times while her older sister, Maddie Poppe, has reached the top-24 and the live shows on American Idol. Meanwhile, she waits for the snow to stop and the weather to warm up enough for her to get an outdoor meet in.
Clarksville has competed in two indoor meets, which doesn’t include the 4x100 event, and that has the younger Poppe concerned about her team’s chances of making back-to-back Drake Relays appearances.
“We haven’t had a lot of meets, so it’s been frustrating since we have to get a certain time to get to the Drake Relays, so we have to work harder in practice to get the time,” said Emma Poppe, who anticipates running the second leg in the event..."
