An infestation of the emerald ash borer was confirmed in Clarksville, making Butler County the 51st Iowa county where the borer has been confirmed.
Members of the Clarksville and Allison Tree Committees are prepared; the borer did not take them by surprise.
“The tree committee has been working with the city to be ready for the borer,” said Meredith Borchardt of the Clarksville Trees Forever Committee.
The tree committee and extension office are planning to hold a public informational meeting in the near future. Some information is already available at the Clarksville City Hall.
