  Chad Hart, ISU Extension grain market specialist, called himself "Dr. Doom" as he discussed grain market trends and provided a market forecast at the Borlaug Learning Center Field Day Aug. 19 in Nashua.
  The U.S. Department of Agriculture raised its yield rate estimate earlier this month based on the second highest "stand count" ever seen, Hart said. Stand count is the amount of plants still standing at a given point in the season.
  The corn is looking good in Iowa, Hart said. The question is, will the northern and western U.S. corn crop be enough to offset the southern and eastern crop?
