Courthouse basement water issues

If your basement was wet following the flooding around Butler County earlier this month, you weren’t alone. The Butler County Courthouse basement dealt with water issues as well.
     Butler County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Chris Showalter spent the week in the field keeping an eye on the flooding and came back to his office only to find it also wet.
     “There was standing water in front of one of my bookcases,” Showalter said. “I’m used to it [standing water]; it’s not a big deal to me, but it’s usually not in my office.”
            County Auditor Liz Williams said every office in the basement was wet except for two. She thinks the carpet in the basement needs to go.
