Contract green-lighted for lift station cleaning in Clarksville

The city of Clarksville will enter into a non-binding contract for annual preventive maintenance of its sanitary sewer lift stations.
Some towns will pay someone to flush sanitary sewer lines, but Clarksville flushes some lines with staff and a sewer jet machine, City Clerk Larry Betts said.
However, cleaning the lift stations is something the city wasn't equipped to handle.
The city maintenance superintendent shares details of the contract, including savings per hour, in the Aug. 20 Clarksville Star, page 15.
