Clarksville Splash Pad receives Wellmark kickstarter grant

The Clarksville Splash Pad was selected to receive $10,000 from the private nonprofit Wellmark Foundation as a Community Kickstarter grant for initiatives intended to make Iowa communities healthier, the foundation announced last week.
“The Clarksville Splashpad Committee is grateful to the Wellmark Kickstarter grant and all of those who voted for the project,” Chairwoman Cindy Wedeking said.
“They wouldn’t say the number of votes (the project received) but said we did very, very well,” Wedeking said. “That was a huge boost to us.”
Then a donor astonished them. “The next day, a private donor, when they heard about this, donated $5,000,” she said.
