The Clarksville splash pad has seen continued improvements the past two weeks with the addition of new cement surrounding the splash pad, a picnic table memorial from the family of Jim and Joyce Hinders, and four round picnic tables, two of which are equipped with solar umbrellas and charging ports for iPhone and Android devices. Three additional benches were added as well with funding left over from splash pad project donations, increasing the number of benches to seven.
Splash pad committee chair Cindy Wedeking said new playground equipment also ordered with remaining donations is scheduled to arrive next week and to be installed one piece at a time over the summer as city workers find time.
Aquatically-themed graphics were recently added around the control unit courtesy of Jeff, Cindy and Janelle Kolb.
Jeff Kolb said the shape of the control unit reminded him a little of a fish tank or aquarium. Now with the added graphics, it looks much more pleasant, and it’s sure to remind everyone of an aquarium.
