CLARKSVILLE – Sometimes there are things bigger than softball.
Don’t get Clarksville co-coach Katie Wedeking wrong, she is thinking softball and the fact her team is improving despite going 0-2 at its own tournament on Saturday, June 6, but she and the team are thinking of other things.
It’s evident by the green ribbons each of the Indians wear in their hair that state they are, ‘Blake Strong.’
That is in reference to Clarksville graduate, Blake Rottink, 21, who is battling lymphoblastic lymphoma.
“He is only a year younger than I am, 21, so we all wear green ribbons, the color of that cancer awareness, to support him,” Wedeking said. “Everyone knows him."
