Clarksville resident’s diaries depict life in the 1950s

For the final 10 years of his life, Clarksville resident and my grandfather, Frank Dexter Merrill, kept a diary.
The last words he typed on his Underwood portable typewriter were: “I am so tired, I can hardly navigate.” Then, he had a massive heart attack, and died right there in his chair.
This happened in July, 1957. He was 78 years old.
