Clarksville plays for former teammate going through tough times

CLARKSVILLE – More than what happened in the Clarksville girls’ non-conference basketball game against Rockford did Indians’ coach Joe Huck have to be proud of.
His girls’ team assembled over the weekend to put together something that would honor former teammate Hannah Freerks and her father, who died of a heart attack on the way to see her while she was staying at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
“Hannah (Freerks) started the year with us, her (were) sternums inverted, so she had surgery on it,” Huck said. “She hasn’t been with us since the beginning of January..."
