CLARKSVILLE – It would have been the easy route to take a ‘W’ for Clarksville’s boys basketball team.
And the Indians’ head coach Ross Timmermans wasn’t about to, scheduling a replacement game for Valley Lutheran, which suspended its program for lack of players earlier this season.
“You always want to play the game,” Timmermans said. “You never want to just get handed a win for doing nothing. I mean, that’s something you want to teach the boys: you’ve got to earn everything that you fight for.
“Being handed a ‘W’ just because someone else quit doesn’t make sense to me..."
