Clarksville man arrested on felony drug charges following altercation

Drew Johnson, 37, of Clarksville, was arrested after struggling with officers and throwing a bag of meth into his wood burning stove on Feb. 26 following a yearlong investigation by the Clarksville Police Department.
     Johnson was charged with Possession of more than five grams Methamphetamine with the intent to deliver (Class B Felony) and Gathering Where Drugs are Used (Class D Felony). He was also charged with Assault on a Peace Officer causing injury, Interference with Official Acts, Possession of Marijuana third offense, and Tampering with Evidence (aggravated misdemeanors), Possession of Prescription Drugs without a prescription (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
     The Clarksville Police Department, assisted by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and Butler County K-9 unit, executed a search warrant on Feb. 26 at 503 West Weare Street, within city limits, following a year of investigation.
     According to the criminal complaint, as officers arrived, the defendant exited a vehicle and began walking toward the residence. An officer ordered Johnson to stop and stated they had a warrant. The defendant ignored commands and ran into the residence.
