Clarksville girls hold on to beat Warriors

CLARKSVILLE – A nine-point lead with a little less than three and a half minutes left was enough for the Clarksville girls’ basketball team to run its record to 2-0 in a 38-34 non-conference win over Rockford.
The Indians had plenty of fouls to give as the Warriors put on a run to outscore the home team 9-4 in the final 2:44 that helped their cause.
In the fourth quarter, Rockford outscored Clarksville 14-9.
Head coach Ross Timmermans said not fouling has been an emphasis in practice since the team’s pre-season scrimmage.
“We have a little phrase we use, ‘beat with your feet, not your hands,’” Timmermans said...
