City Clerk Larry Betts attends his last council meeting
The Clarksville City Council unanimously approved the 2017-2018 budget for the city Monday.
The council believes FEMA public assistance funds will cover all expenses that occurred with the 2016 flood.
The city hopes to buy a new cemetery mower and an end loader. “If it does flood again,” said Maintenance Supervisor Matt Kampman, “[the end loader] is going to get used in the flood.”
In other news, outgoing City Clerk Larry Betts attended his last council meeting. This was his 731st meeting council meeting. Betts will be retiring in a month and a half.
“Lori and Kayla are doing a fantastic job,” Betts said, referring to incoming City Clerk Lori Peterson and Deputy Clerk Kayla Hinders.
