Clarksville City Council amended a few utility rates at its Monday, April 6 meeting.
The council accepted the city clerk’s proposal to increase water rates and storm drainage fees while decreasing garbage rates. The changes will take effect May 1.
Councilman Jeff Kolb said he would like to see the city continue to incorporate a small increase every five years to stay ahead of costs as opposed to having to play catch up and imposing a huge increase to maintain the water and sewer systems.
