Cats’ return season ends at state

After winning the league championship, the Allison Cats earned the privilege of playing in the State Amateur Baseball Tournament last weekend.

In a 16-team double elimination, the Cats loss Sunday at Watkins to Red Top of Cedar Rapids, 11-0, ended the revival season.

“Going into the game, we were missing some key players that turned out to be a big enough problem,” said skipper Collin Freesemann. “We could not afford to make errors, and we did. Red Top is a good team, but I would like to think if allowed to play again, they would not be 11 runs better than us.”
