BUTLER COUNTY – Emergency responders and fire department members throughout the county now have access to an innovative, new smartphone app that promises to cut response times and increase efficiency of emergency workers.
The new app, “I Am Responding,” is designed to immediately let the dispatch center know who is responding to their calls and dispatches, where they are responding, and when they will be arriving to the scene.
According to Mitch Nordmeyer, Director of Emergency Management for Butler County, 16 of the 18 Fire and EMS department members in the county have signed up to use the app so far.
“We’ve only been using it for maybe six weeks, but from what we’ve seen so far, we’re really liking it,” Nordmeyer said.
