Butler County Farm Bureau welcomes intern Annie Wallin to create video series

There’s a new face at the Butler County Farm Bureau, and she’s passionate about agriculture.
     Annie Wallin started working at the Farm Bureau office in Allison on May 14 as an intern, and will continue to serve until August. She recently completed her freshman year in Agricultural Communications at Iowa State University.
     “I love to talk, and I love agriculture. That’s really my passion, … and there are so many misconceptions about [ag],” said Wallin. “It’s a great industry that a lot of people view in a negative way. I would like to help shed a positive light on it.”
     From a farm background herself, Wallin has been asked how many gallons of chocolate milk brown cows produce. But she feels perhaps the most common misconception is that GMOs are unhealthy. She wants to work with farmers to show that GMOs are safe.
