Butler County deputies involved in brief chase on Wednesday evening

  The Butler County Sheriff’s Department were involved in a brief chase around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening, March 18.
  Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 43 year-old Charles McManemy of rural Shell Rock after he refused to stop and law enforcement on a brief chase through and around the City of Austinville.
  Once stopped, McManemy was arrested for multiple charges including: second offense operating while intoxicated, driving while suspended, eluding, a Class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of carrying weapons, and possession of burglar’s tools.
  In a related case, Janette Shannon, 53, of rural Parkersburg, was also taken into custody. She was charged with filing a false report, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamines, a Class B felony; possession of a firearm as a felon, a Class D felony; and second offense possession of a controlled substance (marijuana.)
  Both subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
