Butler Co. foes square off, Clarksville rallies to win

CLARKSVILLE – After Clarksville’s wrestling team rallied from a 38-21 deficit to top Butler County rival North Butler, 39-38, North Butler coach Gordy Smith had to be feeling a little snake-bit.

Especially adding insult to injury, the Bearcats had a 34-15 lead in their next dual of the Tuesday, Jan. 6 triangular against Dike-New Hartford only to see the Wolverines rally for a 39-34 dual win.

The opener gave the Indians area bragging rights with their second win over their county foe, who also won 43-36 on Dec. 2.

 “We’ve been kind of talking back and forth about who was going to win the next dual because it was kind of close the first time we wrestled,” Clarksville coach Tim Negen said....
