Do you know where your abstract is—and what it is?
     If you don’t, it’s time to find it.   Abstracts are needed for “buying, dying or refinancing.” In other words, it’s hard to go through life without them.
     Yet, people lose them all the time. Cleaning out the attic or files of their home or the home of a deceased relative, people toss old abstracts without realizing the abstract is a valuable history of property ownership that they can’t sell real estate without. That’s where the Butler County Abstract Office steps in.
     “Part of the American dream is helping people become landowners and maintain a clean and clear title with no claims against it or boundary disputes,” Manager Mary Smith said.
