Bristow woman dies in rollover

A Bristow woman died on Thursday, May 12 following a rollover at Thrush and B35 (245th Street) in Cerro Gordo County.
Kassidy Lee Ostendorf, 21, of Bristow has been named as a fatality in the rollover.
She was driving a 1996 Chevy pickup eastbound on B35. The vehicle went through a stop sign at Thrush Avenue, turned southbound on Thrush and went onto the shoulder, losing control going into the west ditch, Iowa State Patrol reported. The pickup rolled onto the driver's side and partly ejected the driver from her window. According to the patrol, she was found not wearing a seatbelt.
She was taken to Mercy hospital in Mason City by Mason City Emergency Medical Services.
The accident remains under investigation. Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Cerro Gordo Sheriff's Office, Mason City Police, Fire and Ambulance, and Nora Springs responders.
