Board approves to close Greene Elementary, 6-1

Several Greene residents left the North Butler Middle School library unhappy Monday night.

After another Board of Education meeting, citizens were upset with the Board’s final decision. In a 6-1 vote, the choice was to close the Greene elementary building at the end of the school year.

John Moellers was the lone vote against shutting the school down.

“My concern, is that I’m afraid we’re closing that building because of the financial situation we’re in, and a year or two down the road, that doesn’t appear to be the case,” he said.
