Bearcats start season 2-1

GREENE – North Butler-Clarksville saved its toughest dual of the night for last in its quadrangular wrestling opener on Thursday, Nov. 29.
The Bearcats started their night with a relatively easy 57-12 win over North Union, who gave up eight forfeits, including six straight between 120 and 152 pounds. Both teams had open weights at 106 and 113, also.
It was the middle dual that impressed Bearcat head coach Gordy Smith the most, however, in a couple of matches his wrestlers were trailing only to see them come back to win by fall in a 54-19 victory over Northwood-Kensett.
“I think everybody wrestled pretty well tonight,” Smith said. “Especially against Northwood. We had some fire to us..."
