Bearcats nab all-conference honors

MASON CITY – Mady Klingenborg earned first team all-conference in her first attempt in the Top of Iowa makeup meet on Monday, Oct. 15.
The meet, originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 11 at the NIACC campus in Mason City, was postponed because of cold and blustery conditions.
Monday’s meet was no less cold nor blustery, but the difference was that the sun was shining.
That didn’t go along with Klingenborg’s tastes, but she still finished eighth in 21 minutes, 44.5 seconds for her medal, although she did say that getting her first conference medal in her first attempt felt pretty good.
“I don’t like it as much as the warm ones,” Klingenborg said. “It takes a little more getting used to..."
