Bearcats honor fan in home finale

ALLISON — A fan in the bleachers supporting first Allison, then Allison-Bristow and eventually North Butler softball, the Bearcats honored Esther Boomgarden on Friday, June 29.
A fixture in the crowd since the 1960s, North Butler’s team honored her before blowing out Belmond-Klemme, 12-0, in three innings.
“She’s been coming to games for 55 years, it’s nice to see that kind of people,” North Butler coach Jeff Stirling said. “You don’t realize how much support you get. You expect the parents to be here, but the fans who come and support you year-in and year-out, it’s great to see and to have a nice crowd on a Friday night for the girls, especially when it’s hot out..."
