On the ball: City rec gears up, seeks sponsors

Batters up! Baseball and softball practice for the Clarksville City Rec season begin this weekend, and this year you’ll see a new banner hanging on the dugout at the city ball field with the names of local sponsors when you attend school or city games.
     “We want the kids to know they are supported by the people in our community,” said City Rec President Justin Clark.
     Funding from the sponsors is used for equipment purchases for youth programming to help the kids and coaches on the field.
     “We have such great people willing to help coach and participate,” said Clark. “There are 140 kids signed up this year, which is huge.”
