RAGBRAI is back in town.

The 42nd Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa announced Sunday both Clarksville and Greene will be on the route.

On Day 5, bikers will travel 63 miles on a southeastern stair-step direction from Mason City to Waverly. Stops in Nora Springs, Rockford, Marble Rock, Greene and then Clarksville will take them to the overnight host town.

It marks the sixth time the city of Clarksville has been on the great ride’s route, including 1980, ’85, ’90, ’99, 2010 and now ‘14.

“I am surprised Clarksville is on the route again so quickly,” said Dave Clark, who helped volunteer in 2010. “Usually they wait several years before going in the same area.”
