Auxiliary spearheads vet’s memorial project

A veteran’s memorial is coming to Allison.

It won’t be here tomorrow, but Allison AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post 88 won’t quit until it’s done.

They hosted an introductory meeting after Veteran’s Day to begin the planning.

Auxiliary president Deb Hummel, treasurer Karen Alberts and secretary Greta Cordes shared early research and findings with the community in the Allison Public Library room.

“You girls have done a good job the way it sounds,” said a man after the one-hour gathering. “You got all the initial stuff done.”
