Saturday, Sept. 7 was a happy day in Aredale, as the community celebrated Aredale Day for the first time in five years.

While a little rain dampened the afternoon, many enjoyed delicious smoothies, and there was a good turnout as firemen served hamburgers, baked beans and sweet corn at the fire station in the evening.
