Allison utility rate to increase for lagoon updates

Effective July 1, the city will be increasing sewer fees to 100 percent of water usage. Currently, sewer fees are 55 percent of the water usage. The increase is necessary due to federally mandated testing fees and lagoon updates.

“Now the [sewer] rate will be the same as water,” said Glenda Miller, city clerk.

Miller said the increase will be anywhere from $3 on up, depending on water usage.
