Allison Cats back after 18-year absence
A long tradition of Sunday games at the ballpark has been brought back to Allison.
Started in 1947, a baseball squad Allison Cats played every Sunday afternoon for 49 consecutive years. After disconnecting in 1996, the Cats have been resurrected in 2014. Known as a northeast Iowa amateur team, the Cats are made up of a group of college players. Allison native Casey Klunder came up with the idea of bringing back the Cats, as the Waverly-Shell Rock baseball coach helped get several Wartburg players on the team.
