Allison’s Krull ends dream season in heartbreak

Casey Krull had to relearn the center position his junior season with Wartburg football.

The former North Butler center was asked by head coach Rick Willis to move from the defense to the offense.

So he embraced it.

He learned the rules, and went for it.

“I just learned as I went,” he said.

The change helped Wartburg produce some of the best seasons in school history. They delivered 10-1 and 12-1 seasons in 2013 and 2014.

Unfortunately, his final season ended in heartbreak at Whitewater, Wis. The Knights were one quarter away from making the semifinals in the NCAA Division III Football Championships.
